Intermittent Interac eTransfer Disruption

The Credit Union’s Internet Banking Provider has been informed by INTERAC that they are currently experiencing performance issues with the INTERAC e-Transfer service, which is resulting in intermittent transaction timeouts for members. INTERAC will be immediately executing an emergency restart on the affected servers in order to stabilize the system.

Members may experience intermittent disruptions when attempting to send an eTransfer until this issue is resolved.  The service does appear to be working; therefore, if you receive an error message, we would recommend that you try again in a few minutes.

We thank you for your patience and understanding while Interac works to resolve this issue.

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) is marked each year on June 15th as an official United Nations International Day acknowledging the significance of elder abuse as a public health and human rights issue.  According to the Department of Justice Canada, in 2009, seven per cent of seniors have reported some form of emotional or financial abuse and the overall rate of police-reported violence against seniors has increased 20 per cent since 1998. Research indicates that public education campaigns like WEAAD are vital for informing people about this issue.

If you or someone you know may be a victim of elder abuse please check out what you can do to help!

Canada’s Anti Spam Legislation (CASL)

Hey Members! We need your help! Express your consent to allow the Energy CU to send you electronic messages from time to time.

The Canadian Anti-Spam Law (CASL) went into effect July 1, 2014. It is in place to protect Canadians while ensuring that businesses can continue to compete in the global marketplace. On July 1, 2017 the third phase of CASL comes into effect. From time to time Energy CU staff may contact our members via email or other electronic means in order to serve them more efficiently. If at any time you would prefer not to receive electronic messages from The Energy Credit Union Limited, please contact us by email or phone 416-238-5606.

Are you travelling with your MemberCard outside of Canada?

If you’re planning on taking a trip outside of Canada, please contact us at 416-238-5606 prior to leaving. Our ongoing monitoring programs have identified increased levels of fraud in certain countries recently.
